Masterpress has announced its latest investment in the production of side-gusset envelopes, seeking to strengthen the company’s growing role in the e-commerce space.
Masterpress E-Commerce, a dedicated business unit at Masterpress, a European provider of printed packaging solutions, has announced an investment in new converting and printing technology designed to support the production of side-gusset e-commerce envelopes.
The new machine dedicated to producing side-gusset envelopes will soon be added to the machine park in Białystok, furthering the company’s development strategy in the e-commerce space. This equipment features an integrated printing system that enables envelope personalisation during production, allowing for bespoke graphic designs, improved color accuracy and resolution, and greater efficiency in both material usage and production speed.
“This advanced equipment will deliver greater precision and flexibility in tailoring packaging to customers’ requirements. Enhanced production efficiency will result in shorter lead times and consistently high-quality standards,” said Marek Siciński, Director of the e-commerce business unit at Masterpress. “It represents an important step towards further automation and the expansion of our sustainable packaging portfolio.”
Responding to Evolving Market Needs
The investment comes at a time of rising demand within the e-commerce sector, marking a significant milestone in Masterpress’s commitment to building a stronger and more sustainable portfolio in the e-commerce market.
“This investment will expand our production capabilities and enrich the current product range, further aligning with market expectations and customer needs,” said Marek Siciński. “With this new machine, we’re introducing a modern alternative to traditional poly mailers: side gusset style e-commerce envelopes that maximise efficiency, reduce costs and support eco-conscious customer expectations.”
Envelopes produced on the new line will incorporate side gussets that increase capacity, making them suitable for a wider variety of products such as textiles, footwear and soft goods. Their construction combines strength and stability with lightweight, paper-based design, reinforcing Masterpress’s commitment to supporting sustainable e-commerce practices.
A Growing Role in E-Commerce
Gabriel Magdaleno, Strategic Product Management and Marketing Director at Masterpress, highlighted that the company is “investing significantly” to become a leading force in sustainable packaging. “This new line is one of several strategic initiatives aimed at delivering greener, smarter alternatives to our customers,” he said.
“Investing in e-commerce packaging strengthens Masterpress’s position as a strategic partner for online retailers. By providing innovative, sustainable and customisable packaging solutions, the company aims to set itself apart from competitors, increase customer loyalty and capture a larger share of the rapidly expanding e-commerce market,” Gabriel Magdaleno added. “This investment will also bolster brand visibility internationally, particularly through trade fairs and partnerships with e-commerce platforms, positioning Masterpress as a forward-thinking and dependable supplier.”
E-commerce packaging remains a vital aspect of Masterpress’s investment strategy. The company recognizes the rising demand for high-quality, sustainable and cost-effective shipping solutions. By allocating resources to this segment, Masterpress seeks to address evolving customer expectations, expand its product portfolio and secure its position in the market.
